Darkness
The darkness
sneaks in without mercy,
And the world we were in starts to fade.
Thoughts spin
out of control,
Leaving only
numbness and emptiness.
Voices are heard
from a distance,
As we feel ourselves
being wrapped in the dark.
Feeling
unnoticed feed the mind,
Ad the outside
world begins to disappear.
People judge the
outside appearance,
Never seeing or
knowing what lurks inside.
The dark side of
the soul stays hidden,
To protect
others from feeling our hurt.
The scars inside
are deep and invisible,
Healing with
time but not without many thoughts.
Thoughts are
confusing, wandering down trails,
That seem
endless when wrapped in the dark.
Sleep is not
peaceful with intruding visitors,
A wandering mind
that cannot speak with the body.
Everything is
heard with no way to move,
While the rest
of the body stays numb.
Wrapped in the
dark my soul searches for the light,
The light of
life, hope, joy, and peace.
